This is a story that I have always shared with my colleagues and during my speaking engagements about being a freelancer.
I didn’t have any of these…
Rich parents ❌
… yet I was able to jumpstart my freelancing business (started when I was still in the university) and grew it to an all-women team of consultants & marketers servicing a portfolio of 50+ clients.
So, how did I start?
At an early age, I learned the value of time and money. This is essential for aspiring freelancers as time = money in a nutshell. I learned how to evaluate myself in terms of my strengths and weaknesses. In fact, creating a SWOT analysis for yourself would help. This will help you define your value and niche as you start your freelancing business.
I equipped myself with the right mindset and discipline for success – that I should start small, celebrate the small wins, and dream big.
Last but not the least, I equipped myself with the right set of technical skills by reaching out to mentors and consuming various content on social media marketing, copywriting, strategy, and business management.
With that in mind, I launched an eLearning hub that is meant to guide aspiring freelancers to success.
